Hello members and friends

The APFF is in its 12th year now and we have almost finished the process of upgrading our web page. Firstly to attract new members and to make our twelfth year our biggest yet and secondly to tell people about the wonderful work the foundation is doing.

 With the continued support of our members and the generous support of our sponsors and the public, the foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity. Our major recipients are the Womens & Childrens Hospital, in particular the Newland Ward and Camp Smokey.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the very successful 2010 annual charity ball held on May 22nd at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Although all bills and income have not been finalised at this moment we feel that the final figure will be around $48,000. This is a magnificent result with the numbers attending (773), slightly down on last year, and the economic crisis being experienced at the moment.

This result will enable the Camp Smokey committee the opportunity to invite previous campers and leaders to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this very important camp, in addition to the annual camp held in October. Later this year 2 young burns survivors and 2 leaders will be travelling to Toronto Canada to attend Camp Bucko, a truly wonderful experience for these people.
