Annual Charity Ball

The 2010 ball was held on Saturday 22nd May at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

A big thank you to everyone for the help that went into a very successful evening, although all bills and income are not finalised at this moment we feel that the final figure will be about $40,000.

This is a magnificent result with the numbers attending (773) in the end slightly down on last year and the economic crisis being experienced at the moment. Special mention MUST be made of the incredible amount of effort that Sally Luke put in for the event, Saturday would not have happened without her. Also a huge  thank you to her mother (and employer) Heather, for allowing her to do so much of the work in the office which was quite often taken over when I arrived. Luke & Associates real estate Payneham Rd can now resume normal operations!!!!!!

We now must start to look forward and it is with a tinge of sadness but more of relief that the 3 families who have been working on the last 7 balls have decided that the APFF charity ball needs a new direction. The Luke, Crossman and Boyle families are very proud of what we have achieved, taking the ball from an attendance of around 220 and a small profit to a peak of 800 and $40,000. The most pleasing factor is the added profile and support that has been generated for 'CAMP SMOKEY', a truly wonderful camp for young burns survivors.
